‘Knock At The Cabin’ Trailer: New M. Night Shyamalan Film Promises Apocalyptic Paranoia & Twists
It may not be coming in time for Halloween, but one of the masters of the thriller genre, M. Night Shyamalan, has a new film coming out soon next year. Knock at the Cabin first drew eyes with some creepy social media marketing, with Universal releasing a livestream showing a cabin door for six hours before the trailer played.
Shyamalan’s next film is an adaptation of the 2018 novel The Cabin at the End of the World. The basic premise is that a family of three are attacked and held hostage by a group while on vacation at a remote cabin. The group believes in an impending apocalypse, and that the family must make a sacrifice to avert it.
The film stars Jonathan Groff and Ben Eldridge as couple Andrew and Eric, and Kristen Cui as their adopted daughter Wen in her debut film role. The leader of the group, Leonard, is played by Dave Bautista, who already has some incredibly chilling moments just in this short trailer. In one of the first scares of the trailer, Wen looks up and sees Leonard approach from the forest and have a conversation with her.
Wen’s family is quickly overwhelmed by invaders in another terrifying sequence which we only get glimpses of, and then we get to see the rest of the cast who make up the members of this doomsday cult. They include Rupert Grint, most notably of the Harry Potter series, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Abby Quinn.

Since it’s a Shyamalan film, we can only hope that there is more going on underneath the surface of this film. Luckily, this trailer didn’t do what many new trailers do, and show the audience so many plot beats that you feel like you don’t even need to watch the movie anymore.
Knock At The Cabin premieres on February 3, 2023.
