Billionaire James Dolan, the owner of the New York Knicks and CEO of Madison Square Garden Sports, has hired Hope Hicks as a consultant for MSG after his controversial usage of facial recognition software to target his perceived enemies.
After it was revealed that Dolan had been using the technology to block fans who had criticized him from entering MSG, Dolan hired Hicks who was a former Director of Communications for the White House under the Donald Trump administration.

After resigning from the Trump Administration in 2018 Hicks worked as Fox Corporation’s chief communications executive. Hicks then went back to work for the White House shortly before the pandemic.
It was recently revealed in her text messages that Hicks believed January 6 would make her “unemployable.”
Dolan has been under fire for quite some time, beginning with removing attorneys involved in litigation against his company from MSG and for disinviting a lawmaker who did not agree with the usage of his technology at an NHL Pride Event.
New York Attorney General Letitia James claimed Dolan’s use of facial recognition could violate state anti-discrimination laws.
