Kit Harington Plans To Cut His Hair After ‘Game of Thrones’
HBO’s Game of Thrones is nearing its finale, with filming for the final season scheduled to end within a few weeks. Kit Harington, who plays the heroic lead of Jon Snow, is planning to mark the end of the series by adapting a new look.

In a correspondence with Entertainment Weekly, Harington admits that he desires to move on from the role he’s been playing since 2011. He plans to facilitate that by cutting his iconic long hair, saying, “I’d like to step away and enjoy the obscurity, cut my hair, make myself less recognizable as the character, and go do some other things with a completely new look and tone.”

Clarifying, Harington intends to don a “short-short” haircut. He professes that his beard will be harder to part with, but it needs to go as well. “I can’t go into my next role looking the same. This role was brilliant, but I’ll need to get rid of Jon Snow.”
Notably, for ten months between the fifth and sixth seasons, Harington trimmed his hair as a publicity stunt to sell the idea that his character had died at the time. Nevertheless, given the show’s impending finale, the 31-year-old actor will soon be free to wear his hair however he wants, and cutting it is an apt way to mark the end of an era in his life.
