New details have emerged regarding Kevin Costner’s divorce from his third wife, Christine Baumgartner, and it just keeps getting messier.

Baumgartner filed for divorce early last month after 18 years of marriage. Since then, each detail about their divorce has been making headlines.

Two weeks ago, it was reported that Baumgartner refused to leave the $145 million mansion, violating their prenup and leaving Costner “homeless.” In addition, a restraining order has been filed against the Dances With Wolves actor.

Last week, Baumgartner requested $248,000 per month in child support for their three children: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13.

Now, Baumgartner is claiming that Costner broke the news of their divorce to their kids through a 10-minute Zoom call, for which she was apparently not present.

“I am still confused by his motivation to do this via a very short Zoom session, especially since he was planning on being home five days later,” Baumgartner stated in a court filing. “He also could have easily come home from Las Vegas to have the conversation in person.”

Costner’s version of how their children learned of their divorce filing is entirely different. Costner said a court filing that he told their kids the news at a restaurant near their home.

Costner apparently planned to serve Baumgartner the divorce papers before she did but was “blindsided” when she served him the files first.

Amid his divorce troubles, Costner is also dealing with fallout caused by his leaving his hit series  Yellowstone suddenly leading to the show ending its run.
