Things seem to have gone from bad to worse since Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner’s divorce filing.
Costner has been trying to evict Baumgartner from his $145 million California home.
Apparently, Costner said in a court filing he’s now effectively “homeless.”
Costner claims that Baumgartner has spent $95,000 using his credit card and on top of that has filed a restraining order against him. She allegedly spent the money on a forensic accountant and lawyers.
When the two got married back in 2004, Baumgartner signed a prenup where she agreed to leave his house in 30 days in the event of a divorce.
Costner says he has given Baumgartner ample funds to relocate and find a new home, but she has been refusing to leave his property in California. He has even offered her more money in an attempt to persuade her to leave, but these efforts have proven unsuccessful.
Costner wants to move back into his house in California, but Baumgartner is currently living there and refuses to leave.
Costner has recently been filming a new project in Utah which is set to end soon, which is why he plans on moving back to California.
He has claimed that during his last divorce, he became homeless and that was the reason for the strict prenup.
He also said he’s funded two businesses that Baumgartner created, but they both failed.
Baumgartner’s lawyers filed a restraining order against her husband on June 8, so Costner cannot sell or transfer any of the properties or take his children out of the state.
In response, Costner’s lawyers filed a request that would allow him to evict Baumgartner from his house.
Costner has requested to keep the prenup sealed so that no one else can access it, ensuring their privacy. He also has requested the court to determine if the prenup is valid so that this process can speed up.
