Singer Kesha has been in a well-publicized legal battle for a year with producer Dr. Luke and therefore cannot record new music or perform live under her moniker. That did not stop her from performing with a new band last week in Nashville before Christmas.
Last Wednesday, the singer took the stage in Nashville at The Springwater Lounge with only a couple hundred people in attendance because of the club keeping hush about the event. The backing band that she performed with is called The Yeast Infection, which helped her create re-imagined versions of her Top 40 hits including “Blow” and “Timber.” Another song that was reportedly performed by the band was a cover of “Whote Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin.

In terms of the legal battle, Kesha is still fighting with Dr. Luke who is not only her producer, but also her label boss since she is signed with his label, Kemosabe Records. The battle began in October 2014 when Kesha accused of Dr. Luke sexually abusing her while Dr. Luke has stated that these charges are trumped up by Kesha in order to cancel her contract with his record label.
