Kesha headed to a hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court on Friday — in a lawsuit against her former producer Dr. Luke, who she claims sexually and emotionally abused her for years.

Kesha Attends Court Hearing In Case Against Sony Producer Dr. Luke

Kesha attended the hearing to learn if she would be granted an injunction that will release her from her contract with Dr. Luke and his label Kemosabe, and allow her to release new music.

Kesha has stated that she’s too afraid to continue collaborating with producer Dr. Luke, whose real name is Luke Gottwald, while the producer has claimed that her allegations are false.

The pop singer posted an important message on Instagram on Thursday, telling fans why she’s doing this.

“I have nothing left to hide. I did this because the truth was eating away my soul and killing me from the inside,” Kesha wrote.

“This is not just for me. This is for every woman, every human who has ever been abused,” the singer added.

Unfortunately, a judge denied Kesha’s request for a preliminary injunction that would have freed her from working with Dr. Luke.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich said she thought Sony would suffer irreparable harm if Kesha did not abide by a contract that requires her to make six more albums with the company.

Kornreich also noted that Sony had offered to let Kesha work with another producer.

Kesha declined to speak with reporters.
