Kelly Osbourne Talks Rehab, Mom Sharon Osbourne Putting Her In Padded Cell
Kelly Osbourne, the purple-haired host of E!’s Fashion Police, has been opening up about her past struggles with substance abuse, which led to more than a couple stints in rehab.
"I've been to rehab seven times and to two mental institutions," Kelly told Cosmopolitan U.K. “My mum even had me put me in a padded cell once to scare me," Kelly, 28, added, "but like a brat I just sat it out until she said, 'Well, that's not going to work.' "
Kelly certainly isn’t the only member of the Osbourne family that has struggled with addiction. Kelly’s father Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath frontman notorious for biting the head off a bat, was checked into the Betty Ford Center the day after she was born. Jack Osbourne, Kelly’s younger brother, had to be treated for substance abuse at 17.
Kelly, who’s first stint in rehab was at age 19, reveals that she had been so attached to her drugs that she would hide them so that no one else could have them. "I wanted them all to myself," she said. "I was quite selfish."
Though Kelly remains clean and sober, her father recently had a relapse that her mother Sharon Osbourne confirmed on The Talk, admitting that she was "devastated." Ozzy admitted his relapse through his Facebook page, confessing to drinking alcohol and taking drugs for the last year and a half. Kelly is hoping that she’ll be able to get her father completely sober again before her upcoming wedding to model Matthew Mosshart, according to RadarOnline.
“Kelly went right for daddy’s heart – she made it clear that she needed him to be present when he walked his little girl down the aisle,” a source told the website. “Ozzy would never ruin her big day, so he promised Kelly that he would get it together way before her wedding to Matthew.”
