Kellan Lutz Shirtless In ‘Hercules’ Trailer

Kellan Lutz shows off his ripped abs and bulging biceps in the trailer for his new action movie Hercules: The Legend Begins.

Lutz, 28, wears minimal armor in the mythic action film that follows him as Hercules, who is exiled after the love of his life – Hebe, the Princess of Crete – ends up betrothed to his brother. This narrative of unrequited love becomes central to the film, which director Denny Harlin (Die Hard 2) felt was imperative to the story he wanted to tell.

"We didn't want to make a movie that is just this brooding guy who's just going from fight to fight, and just being violent and brutish," Harlin said at New York Comic Con. "For us, the love story was very much the heart and key to his character and his story."

Lutz, best known for playing Emmett Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise, will be starring alongside Liam McIntyre and Scott Adkins in the Hercules origin story. Incidentally, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is also taking on the role of Hercules this year in a film that traces the demigod’s later years titled Hercules: The Thracian Wars.

Hercules: The Legend Begins is slated to hit theaters sometime in March 2014.
