Kathy Griffin has announced that she is no longer friends with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.

KATHY GRIFFIN SAYS SHE’S NO LONGER FRIENDS WITH ANDERSON COOPER

The liberal pair had a falling out after Griffin’s photo controversy. In May, Griffin posted a photo of herself holding a fake, bloodied, decapitated head of Donald Trump. The Trump family was upset, as was most of the media. Cooper distanced himself from fellow CNN member. “For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in,” Cooper tweeted at the time. “It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.”

Griffin admits that she was hurt by Cooper’s immediate dismissal, and wishes he’d at least spoken to her before tweeting his response. Cooper then told Andy Cohen of Watch What Happens Live that he and Griffin were still friends, despite having not reached out to Griffin following the incident. She says she ended their friendship once Cooper finally texted her to reach out.

Griffin, who used to host CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast, was fired from the network immediately. She apologized profusely for the photo, but outlets, fans, and venues are still blacklisting the comedian. “Why are people still expecting me to apologize and grovel to a man that tweets like that?” she asked recently. “I’m a comedian; he’s our f–king president… President Trump just pardoned Joe Arpaio, who was essentially running a concentration camp in the Arizona desert. He said there are some good Nazis, and he’s kicking out young adults who were brought here as kids by their parents, and I’m the one who has to continue to apologize?”

Other comic actors have supported Griffin through the mess, with Jim Carey saying as a comedian, it’s her job to “cross the line at all times.” Jamie Foxx also backed her up. “Listen, as comedians, sometimes you do go beyond, past the line,” he told E!. “I still love Kathy Griffin. She went past the line, she’ll pay for it in the way she pays for it, and we’ll go out and we’ll laugh with her again.”

For now, Griffin is headed off to tour in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand on her new “Laugh Your Head Off” tour, and yes, expect to hear Trump jokes.
