Kathy Griffin Retweets Her Picture Of Trump Decapitated After President Falsely Claims Election Victory

Comedian Kathy Griffin retweeted a picture of President Donald Trump with a severed head after the president falsely claimed victory in the election. The picture features a straight-faced Griffin clad in blue, holding up Trump’s bloodied face by the hair.

Griffin originally tweeted the picture in 2017. The gory post enraged Trump’s supporters and eventually got her fired from her role at CNN. The Trump family also condemned the post, emphasizing that it was “sick” and that it terrified Trump’s then 11-year-old son, Barron.

The backlash was not limited to just Trump supporters, however. Chelsea Clinton also criticized the pictures, writing, “This is vile and wrong. It is never funny to joke about killing a president.”

Even Griffin’s longtime friend and fellow CNN personality Anderson Cooper blasted the images, saying, “For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.”

Although Griffin initially apologized, she quickly retracted the statement, calling the outrage “B.S.” Now, the picture is making the rounds on Twitter again.

In a press conference around 2 a.m. the morning after election night, Trump falsely claimed he had won the election and promised to go to the Supreme Court to contest the ongoing counting of absentee ballots. Griffin re-shared the picture just a few minutes later, among a slew of criticism among the public towards the president for his premature and misleading statements.
