Kathie Lee Gifford Confirms That Taylor Swift Crashed Kennedy Wedding

According to Kathie Lee Gifford, 59, Taylor Swift, 22, can't stay away from her new boyfriend Conor Kennedy, 18, the son of the recently deceased Mary Kennedy with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., long enough to avoid a social faux-pas.

Kathie Lee responded to reports on Today that Swift and Conor had shown up uninvited to the wedding of Kathie Lee's granddaughter by marriage, Kyle Kennedy to Liam Kerry, and were subsequently asked to leave.

While Swift's rep released a statement saying that "Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her profusely for being there," Kathie Lee, who was in attendance, claimed that wasn't the case.

The bride's mother and Kathie Lee's stepdaughter, Victoria Gifford Kennedy, also spoke out about Swift's arrival. "I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave," Victoria told the Boston Herald. "It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me."

Kathie Lee also said that Conor had not sent in his own RSVP to the wedding, so no one had any idea if he was coming or not until directly before the ceremony, when "he got in touch with her an hour earlier and said, basically, 'Can I bring my girlfriend?'" to which Victoria reportedly "said very nicely, please do not come, but they came anyway. They asked her to leave twice. I thought she did …. I didn't know there was any drama going on at the time. I'm not sure she didn't know that she wasn't invited.

Swift, whose recently released single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," has reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100, also accompanied Conor to the gravesite of his mother over the weekend following the wedding-crashing incident. Her fourth studio album, Red, is due out on October 22.
