Kate Middleton Issues Apology For Posting Edited Family Photo
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, issued an apology on X for “any confusion” over a family photo.
The image features Middleton surrounded by her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Several news outlets who had shared the image immediately pulled it after signs of photo manipulation were spotted. One included a jagged white line in the background behind Prince Louis’ knee. Another point of interest was Princess Charlotte’s left hand.
After the photo sparked a social media uproar, Middleton shared her thoughts on X.
Middleton wrote, “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C,” signing off with “C” for “Catherine.”
In December, Middleton was also mocked for a Photoshop fail for another family photo gone wrong.
Middleton and her husband, Prince William, wanted to share a picture of the family together for Mother’s Day in the U.K.
The Mother’s Day post is the first official image of Middleton after her abdominal surgery in January. The image was shared to thank supporters during Middleton’s recovery process.
Social media has been rife with rumors about the health of the princess in recent weeks.
