Kate Bosworth And Michael Polish Wed

Kate Bosworth married director Michael Polish Aug. 31 in an outdoor ceremony at the Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana.

Bosworth and Polish first met in 2011 on the set of the film Big Sur, which stars Bosworth and was directed by Polish.

The two announced their engagement a year ago.

The newlyweds teamed up with Martha Stewart Weddings to plan their perfect day, and more details will be released in the Winter issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. The publication broke the news of the wedding on Sunday.

And, on Tuesday, Bosworth took to Twitter to thank her fans for their well wishes.

Bosworth, who made a name for herself as a fashion forward actress, reportedly wore an Oscar de la Renta custom “ivory radzimir-satin strapless ball gown and a sweeping eight-foot-long, 16-foot-wide train” for the ceremony and then changed into another Oscar de la Renta creation for the reception – this one embroidered tulle.

Bosworth also released a video featuring her trying on her wedding gown for the first time, on Vogue Weddings.

“I love the dress because when you see the front it feels so minimal and then when you turn around there’s dramatic sort of glorious fall of the fabric,” Bosworth says of her wedding dress.

But, a wedding dress is not just a dress. Bosworth admits in the video that she views her wedding gown as symbolic of her new life and marriage.

“It’s a dress that reflects the love I have for my partner, it’s a reflection of my life, it’s a reflection of the woman I’ve become,” Bosworth explains.

Both Polish and Bosworth wrote their own vows, and Polish’s 15-year-old daughter, Jasper Polish, reportedly participated in the ceremony. Jasper, a singer-songwriter, just released her first single “Angel” in July, and new stepmother Bosworth even shot her first album cover.

Martha Stewart Weddings promises a spread covering the four-day weekend festivities in their Winter issue available Dec. 30. This is the second marriage for Polish and the first for Bosworth.
