Latin singer Karol G‘s private jet was forced to make an emergency landing in Van Nuys, California, after reports of smoke in the cockpit.

The incident unfolded on Thursday night and captured attention as AIR7 HD provided aerial coverage of the Grammy-winning Colombian reggaeton artist disembarked from the aircraft. After she landed, Karol G embraced friends and associates on the tarmac in relief.

Earlier that evening, the plane departed from Burbank airport with 16 individuals on board, headed east. However, as the aircraft reached the Cajon Pass, the pilot alerted authorities to the presence of smoke, which prompted an immediate decision to turn back.

Emergency crews were prepared to receive the jet, and it executed a smooth landing at Van Nuys Airport at approximately 9 p.m. No injuries were reported among the passengers and crew.

The purpose of Karol G’s visit to Los Angeles remains undisclosed. Currently engaged in the Mañana Será Bonito tour across Latin America, with the next show scheduled in Guatemala on Friday, it remains uncertain how the airplane emergency will impact her tour schedule.

Karol G, whose birth name is Carolina Giraldo Navarro, a highly acclaimed Colombian singer, is renowned for her significant influence in the realms of reggaeton and urban pop. Throughout her career, she has garnered numerous prestigious accolades, which include a Grammy Award, five Latin Grammy Awards and four Billboard Music Awards.

In an interview with Rolling Stone last year, she spoke of her career, “I imagined that I was going to accomplish a lot of things in my life, but really, I never imagined it’d be to the point that it is today. To reach so many people, touch so many people in so many different aspects — it still blows my mind… Life has shown me that so many things are possible. I have 10 times more ambition and vision than what I imagined.”

Last August, Karol G was in the news when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction at her Las Vegas concert.
