Kanye West debuted his new album – now titled T.L.O.P. (The Life of Pablo) – in conjunction with the debut of the Yeezy 3 clothing line at New York Fashion Week Thursday night. One of West’s new songs, “Famous,” features a reference to having sex with Taylor Swift.

Although in recent years it had seemed that West and Swift had moved past the bad blood of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards incident, West’s lyrics on “Famous” likely undid the reconciliation.

“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that b—h famous/God damn,” he raps on the track. “I made that b—h famous.”

After the song’s debut, Swift put out a statement through a rep, claiming that West had approached her to link to “Famous” on Twitter. Swift says she refused, not even knowing about the extent of the offensive lyrics.

“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account,” Swift’s rep told Entertainment Weekly. “She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b—h famous.’”

West took to Twitter Friday morning refuting the statement from Swift’s rep. Not only does he claim that Swift was ok with the lyric, but that it was ultimately inspired by something that she herself had said.

“I did not diss Taylor Swift and I’ve never dissed her…,” West began his explanation on Twitter. “First thing is I’m an artist and as an artist I will express how I feel with no censorship. 2nd thing I asked my wife for her blessings and she was cool with it. 3rd thing I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings. 4th B—h is an endearing term in hip hop like the word Ni–a.”

“5th thing I’m not even gone take credit for the idea… it’s actually something Taylor came up with …,” West continued. “She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s name I will keep out of this and she told him. I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous! #FACTS.”

Although Swift hasn’t personally commented on “Famous,” her brother Austin Swift made his feelings known with an Instagram video showing him dumping his Yeezy sneakers in the garbage. “Getting a head start on some spring cleaning,” he captioned the video. “Here we go again.”
