Justin Timberlake won the Favorite Song award at last night’s People’s Choice Awards for his “Can’t Stop the Feeling” and joked about his son in his acceptance speech.
Timberlake has a 21-month old son Silas with wife Jessica Biel who he has previously said watches Timberlake’s summer movie Trolls as often as he can. They even dressed as the characters for Halloween. Timberlake has credited Silas as the reason he wrote the song, which was the theme for the film.
“To my two favorite people in the world, my wife and my beautiful son, who may or may not be watching right now,” said Timberlake at the podium. “If you are, buddy… the nanny’s fired. I love you and go to bed, and you’re the reason I wrote this song.”
When the audience cheered for him and applauded, Timberlake joked, “Don’t lie to me! I have an almost two-year-old, I know what lying looks like!”
