Justin Bieber took home a total of five wards at the MTV Europe Music Awards Sunday in Milan, Italy.
Bieber, 21, won in five of the six categories for which he was nominated – Best Male, Best Look, Best Worldwide Act: North America, Biggest Fans and Best Collaboration with Skrillex and Diplo for “Where Are U Now.”
The Best Male award was the first one given out at the awards show, which was hosted by Ed Sheeran and Ruby Rose. Bieber beat out Sheeran, Jason Derulo, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams for the honor.
“Wow thank you it’s been a long couple of years. I just feel like this is pretty awesome to be recognized for my music,” Bieber said in his acceptance speech. “I want to thank my fans, my mum my dad, God and everyone, I love you, thank you.’
The next award that Bieber took to the stage to receive was the Best Worldwide Act: North America gong.
“I love you, I don’t take any of these moments for granted, you guys are unbelievable,” Bieber said of his fans, adding, “That’s where I belong, right up there on that stage.”
On Instagram, Bieber posted a picture of himself smiling at the MTV EMAs. “Thank you for putting this smile on my face,” wrote the night’s big winner.
