Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who appeared in the Lady Gaga & the Muppets Holiday Spectacular back in 2013, will produce and star in the Fraggle Rock movie.

“The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations,” Gordon-Levitt said in a statement. “Collaborating with Lisa Henson makes me confident we can do something that Jim would have loved.”

The New Regency, Henson Co. and Lisa Henson Fraggle Rock project has been in development since 2005, according to Entertainment Weekly. With the addition of Gordon-Levitt behind it, it will finally get the green light.

Fraggle Rock debuted on Canadian TV in 1983. Like stateside Henson productions, Fraggle Rock followed a group of Muppets – those these ones lived in caves and were called Fraggles. Fittingly, their place of residence was Fraggle Rock, where they coexisted with Doozers (similar to ants) and the massive and furry Gorgs.

Gordon-Levitt’s more immediate projects include Oliver Stone‘s Edward Snowden biopic Snowden in which he plays the titular character, and an untitled holiday comedy with Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie.
