John Mayer released a “ballad version” of his song “Last Train Home” off his newest album Sob Rock ahead of his 2022 arena tour across North America.

“Perfect for: Night drives Last dances Irrational feelings of desire Revisionist nostalgia,” the singer-songwriter tweeted, hyping up the song that was released Friday. In the in-studio live performance, Mayer takes his synth-y, ode to the 80s pop song and turns it into a loving and cozy piece perfect for fall.

 

The “New Light” singer’s Sob Rock tour is scheduled to kick off on February 17, 2022, in Albany, N.Y. and visit cities including Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Toronto, Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver, Tampa, Atlanta, Nashville, Houston and Dallas before wrapping up in Chicago on April 29.
