Joe Rogan said he has rejected multiple opportunities to interview Donald Trump even though he has recently indicated his support for Republicans like Ron DeSantis in the 2024 Presidential election.

Rogan was appearing on Lex Fridman‘s podcast, and they began discussing whether Trump would attempt to run for the Republican nomination again in 2024. Rogan responded with some barbs about President Joe Biden, saying, “Well, he’s running against a dead man, you know? I mean, Biden shakes hands with people that aren’t even there when he gets on stage. think he’s seeing ghosts.”

The podcast host then went on to say, “By the way, I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape or form. I’ve had the opportunity. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once – I’ve said no, every time. I don’t want to help him.”

When Fridman argued that he could have a decent conversation with Trump and added that he interviewed Kanye West in the past, Rogan responded with, “Kanye doing well or not doing well, doesn’t change the course of the country.”

Rogan has also not denied interviews to plenty of concerning figures such as Gavin McInnes, a founder of the far-right men’s rights group the Proud Boys, and alt-right political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos.

Rogan has also been criticized in the past for voicing his Covid-19 vaccine skepticism to his massive audience. He has also welcomed guests that advocate for unproven treatments of the virus, like ivermectin, which he also used when he himself tested positive.
