Jodie Sweetin does not expect that either Mary Kate Olsen or her twin sister Ashley Olsen will be making any appearances on Fuller House.

Jodie Sweetin On Olsen Twins

Sweetin, who reprises her Full House character Stephanie Tanner on Netflix reboot Fuller House, has admitted that everyone has more or less resigned themselves to the fact that the Olsen twins won’t be agreeing to a cameo on the new show. “We’ve tried everything,” Sweetin told Entertainment Tonight, referring to the actresses-turned-fashion moguls who played her little sister Michelle on Full House. “I think we’ve kinda given up.”

While Mary Kate and Ashley are off the table, Sweetin says that season 2 of Fuller House will have a number of other notable celebrity cameos.

“We have a lot,” Sweetin revealed. “A lot of people that have been talked about for like 30 years are going to be on the show. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

The reason the Olsen twins have been reluctant to participate in the Full House reboot is twofold: they haven’t acted in years and they’re focused on their fashion careers.

“Ashley said, ‘I have not been in front of a camera since I was 17 and I don’t feel comfortable acting,’” Fuller House executive producer Bob Boyett told People. “Mary-Kate said, ‘It would have to be me because Ash doesn’t want to do it. But the timing is so bad for us.’

John Stamos, who notably tried to get the twins onboard at the start, recalled a conversation with costar Lori Loughlin.

”Lori was talking to me about the twins and said, ‘They just won a CFDA award,’” Stamos said during a radio interview. “And I’m like, ‘Yeah, that’s like winning an Oscar.’ It was them and Tom Ford. I get where they’re at.”
