In true Harry Potter fashion, the creator of the series JK Rowling says that she has planned scripts for at least four more movies of her new series.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be released on Nov. 17, yet it seems Rowling’s new screenwriting career cannot be stopped with just one movie.
“We always knew it was going to be more than one movie, and we said a trilogy as a placeholder, but I’ve done the plotting properly and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be five movies,” she said at a London promotional event in Leicester Square. For anyone who doubts her, Rowling repeated herself on her Twitter account yesterday, confirming that there will be no less than five movies in total.
Warner Bros. had already confirmed a sequel, which will be helmed by David Yates, director of the final four Harry Potter films and the first Fantastic Beasts movie. The sequel release date is currently set to be almost exactly two years from the next release date, November 18, 2018.
