Jimmy Kimmel spent his monologue last night as he usually does, providing incisive analysis of geopolitical affairs. At this point in time, that of course means the momentous summit in Singapore between Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

But first, a quick catch-up of the weekend, specifically the G7 summit, in which Trump managed to alienate the heads of state of several of America’s closest allies. That meeting also resulted in the already-iconic photo of German Chancellor Angela Merkel glaring at Trump like he is a petulant child, which Kimmel believes should be captioned, “no dessert unless you eat all your carrots.”

Then it was onto the Singapore summit, which took place after Kimmel taped in the afternoon, but he had a pretty good idea of how it would all go down. First off, he played the now-infamous clip of Fox & Friends host Abby Huntsman referring to the summit as “that meeting between those two dictators,” which Kimmel sneakily characterized as an “oopsy-truthy.”

Noting that Trump has said he hopes he and Kim like each other, Kimmel surmised, “Kim Jong Un is a brutal dictator who starves his people and murders his political enemies. They’re definitely going to like each other. They might even fall in love.” And being the Bachelor fanatic that he is, he concluded, “My hope is that the summit ends with Trump giving Kim Jong Un a rose and Kim Jong Un eating it.”

The monologue is not available on its own online, but you can watch last night’s episode on ABC’s website. And below, you can check out Kimmel’s latest skewering of what went down on The Bachelorette.
