‘Jessica Jones’ Star Eka Darville Loses 10-Year-Old Son To Rare Form Of Brain Cancer
Jessica Jones actor Eka Darville lost his 10-year-old son to a battle with brain cancer.
Darville’s child, Mana, was diagnosed with glioneuronal brain cancer earlier this year after collapsing on the beach and suffering multiple seizures. He was given just weeks to live and underwent several treatments, but ultimately passed away last week.
Danville’s mother, Malaika, announced the news on social media, admitting that it is a relief that Mana is now “free.”
“I still wanted to come together in this prayer because he’s still always gonna be with us and he’s still with us,” she said in a video. “You can imagine the amount of sadness and grief of Eka, Lila, Lila’s parents, his grandparents, myself and his little brothers.”
“There’s a lot of stillness in the house after such a long struggle for 463 days since the whole ordeal began,” she continued. “And now he’s free. Now he’s dancing in the light.”
“We all see it, we feel it and I know that many of you, like myself, loved Mana eternally,” she said.
