In a last ditch attempt to save his ailing marriage to recent Oscar winner Sandra Bullock, troubled motorcycle mechanic Jesse James has checked himself into an Arizona rehab clinic in order to deal with some “personal issues,” People Magazine is reporting. News of the former Apprentice star’s self-imposed exile from the glaring spotlight emerged when he confessed his intentions to officers from the California Highway Patrol after they pulled over the 40-year-old for driving without a front license plate.

A desperate James has endured intense scrutiny in recent weeks after details over his alleged extra-marital affairs became public. In a statement released earlier this month James blamed “poor judgment” on his part after four different women, including stripper and tattoo model Michelle ‘Bomeshell’ McGee, each came forward with claims that they had engaged in affairs with the star at various points during his time with his now wife, Bullock.

One man who has highlighted a potential silver lining to James’ proverbial storm clouds is his former boss on the Apprentice, Donald Trump. Having previously expressed surprise over the scandal, proclaiming that the figure painted in the media is not the Jesse he knew, Trump confessed to Entertainment Weekly that James’ stock has probably never been higher. “In terms on TV it probably helps him…Whether you like him or not, he is a much hotter commodity now than before this happened. And his audience – they love him,” Trump said.
