Jay Leno has reportedly been badly injured after one of his cars suddenly caught fire in his Burbank garage this past weekend.

The comedian was set to speak at a financial conference on Sunday, but he is still being treated at the Grossman Burn Center in California after sustaining serious injuries to his face from the burns.

In a statement to Variety, Leno said, “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”

He had initially pulled out of the conference before reports of his injuries were released, simply citing a “serious medical emergency.”

Leno is known for having a formidable car collection and even once got out of a car crash uninjured when filming Jay Leno’s Garage back in 2016.

Leno was reportedly burned badly on the left side of his face, but he got out lucky because the flames didn’t injure his ear or eye.

Leno hosted The Tonight Show from 1992 to 2009, and then again from 2010 to 2014 after his replacement Conan O’Brien was infamously bumped from the show’s timeslot to allow Leno to return. After Leno departed for the second time, the show was taken over by Jimmy Fallon.
