Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet have announced the ending of their 16-year partnership in a statement posted to Momoa’s Instagram page on Wednesday.

“We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times,” their joint statement began. “We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy – But so that – as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty. The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived.”

The couple met each other at a jazz club in 2005 and officially married 12 years and two children later in 2017.  Momoa once revealed that he had a boyhood crush on Bonet during her run as Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show.

Their daughter Lola was born in 2007, and their son Nakoa-Wolf was born in 2008. Momoa even became extremely friendly with Bonet’s family from her first marriage. Her first husband was to singer and musician Lenny Kravitz, and their daughter is Big Little Lies actress Zoë Kravitz.
