Jared Leto Sent Used Condoms, Sex Toys And Dead Pig To ‘Suicide Squad’ Cast Members

Jared Leto, the next Joker in the upcoming film Suicide Squad, sent Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje used condoms and anal beads as a means of identifying with his character.

“I did a lot of things to create a dynamic, to create an element of surprise, of spontaneity, and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there,” Leto told E!. “The Joker is somebody who doesn’t really respect things like personal space or boundaries.”

Smith also commented on his striking and out there gift: “Jared went full Joker. The rule, generally, is never go full Joker, but he really set the tone. He wasn’t playing with it, he was dead serious. As an actor, he was going in… he really jarred [us],”

Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn also commented on her gift: “I can’t even begin to tell you the things I got [from Jared]. By that point, I feel like I knew The Joker a bit, so it wasn’t as alarming, but yeah, there were many instances where I didn’t know what to expect from Jared.”

Viola Davis also commented on Leto’s performance on and off the stage involving a dead pig.

“He had a henchman who would come into the rehearsal room, and the henchman came in with a dead pig and plopped it on the table, and then he walked out,” she said. “And that was our introduction into Jared Leto.”

Suicide Squad hits theaters Aug. 5.
