Janet Jackson is delaying her world tour indefinitely as she and her husband, Wissam Al Mana, plan their family.
Jackson, 49, announced on Twitter first thing Wednesday morning that the second leg of the Unbreakable tour would be put on hold indefinitely. In Jackson’s video message, she and Qatari businessman Al Mana, 41, are focusing on their family.
“We’re in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change,” Jackson announced in the video. “I thought it was important that you would be the first to know my husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can try to understand that it’s important that I do this now.”
Jackson added, “I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue to tour as soon as I possibly can.”
Jackson went on to thank the entire crew on the Unbreakable tour, which kicked off in August of last year, and her many fans.
“Thank you to all the fans, for your love, your undying love, your loyalty,” Jackson said. “That means so much to me. You’re truly appreciated. It’s been a long journey, and you guys have been there each and every step of the way.”
Jackson and Al Mana have been married since 2012.
