Amy Schumer slammed Glamour Magazine for including her in the “plus size” bonus issue sponsored by Lane Bryant. The comedian then took on Instagram to show her fans the issue.
Earlier Tuesday, Schumer Instagrammed a photo of Glamour‘s special issue cover, explaining that calling her “plus size” can be harmful for young girls. Her Instagram photo captioned, “I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn’t feel right to me,” she said.
She followed that post with a video of herself in a bikini attempting to fly a kite, “Thanks for your thoughts to the people who didn’t tell me how I “should feel” Bottom line seems to be that these labels are unnecessary and reserved for women #muchlove,” she captioned.
Glamour Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive addressed Schumer’s concerns on Twitter, explaining that their was a misunderstanding and that they didn’t call her plus size.
