Jamie King filed for divorce from director Kyle Newman on Monday morning in Los Angeles. The actress also requested and was granted a temporary restraining order against Newman.

The couple was married for 12 years and they share two sons, James Knight and Leo Thames, ages six and four, respectively.

King filed for a domestic violence prevention petition and the granted restraining order against Newman will be held until a June 8 court hearing. According to court officials, Newman “cannot be within 100 yards of King.” The actress also requested an emergency motion related to child custody and visitation, but it was denied without prejudice.

The two met on the set of Fanboys in 2005. Newman directed the film and King made a cameo appearance. They were married in 2007 at the Greystone Park and Manor in Los Angeles.

The couple appears to have had a good relationship for many years. In 2018, King told Us Weekly, “Ultimately, my husband is my best friend and at the same time my lover, the father of my children, my favorite human in the whole world, And so when you come from a place of fullness, then you’re sharing from a place that’s really sexy and fun and free.”

King and Newman both have yet to comment on their split.
