As Jamie Foxx and Lily James took to the Golden Globes stage, Foxx was playful as he poked fun at fellow actors, Will Smith and Denzel Washington.

Foxx explained how music was essential for a movie and “has the power to heighten the emotional moments of each film to keep us engaged.”

After the nominees were listed, Foxx announced the winner as Straight Outta Compton, which was not a nomination. Foxx then went on to spoof Steve Harvey‘s infamous mistake of calling the wrong winner at this year’s Miss Universe.

“I’m sorry, folks. Its right here on the card. I take full responsibility. I apologize to everyone in Compton. Its right here on the card.”

James didn’t seem at all bothered by Foxx as she laughed at his antics.

What did seem to cause some drama was when the actual winner, Quentin Taratino‘s movie, The Hateful Eight won for best score from the work of Ennio Morricone.

“Do you realize Ennio Morricone, who is far as I am concerned, is my favorite composer. When I saw favorite composer, I don;t mean movie composer, that ghetto, I am talking about Mozart, I am talking about Beethovan…that’s who I am talking about.”

Foxx picked up the director’s use of the word “ghetto” as he stepped up to the mic and repeated the word back to the audience. He brushed off the comment and went on to introduce his daughter, Corinne Foxx, as Miss Golden Globes.
