Jaimie Foxx Sued By Woman For 2015 Alleged Sexual Assault

Actor Jamie Foxx faces accusations of sexual assault allegedly committed against a woman at a restaurant in New York City back in 2015.

On Wednesday, a lawsuit was filed that cited the encounter between Foxx, now 55, and the unidentified plaintiff that took place at Catch NYC & Roof in August 2015. The incident allegedly began when the woman arrived at the rooftop restaurant around 11 p.m. She and her friend were seated at a table near Foxx and requested to take a photo with the actor. The plaintiff claims that Foxx, who she alleges appeared intoxicated, responded, “Sure, baby, anything for you.”

The lawsuit further claims that Foxx proceeded to compliment the plaintiff and stated that she had a “supermodel body.”

He then took her to a secluded area where he placed his hands on her waist, under her shirt and proceeded to touch her intimately. The woman asserts that Foxx then proceeded to put his hands inside her.

Several individuals, which included security guards, witnessed the alleged assault but did not intervene, despite the woman’s attempts to escape from Foxx. It was only when her friend came around the corner and witnessed the incident that Foxx stopped.

The plaintiff has filed to sue Foxx and the restaurant and seeks compensatory and punitive damages. She says she has suffered emotional distress and required medical treatment as a result of the alleged sexual assault, abuse, assault and battery.

A spokesperson for Foxx issued a statement that denied the allegations and referred to a previous lawsuit filed in Brooklyn in 2020 that was subsequently dismissed. The spokesperson expressed confidence that the current claims would also be dismissed and indicated that Foxx intends to pursue a claim for malicious prosecution against the plaintiff and her attorneys for re-filing what he deemed a frivolous action.

Foxx had faced health issues earlier this year, which resulted in his hospitalization for a medical complication in April. In a later Instagram video, he addressed his health struggles and explained his decision to stay out of the public eye temporarily.

 Foxx expressed his desire for people to see him in a positive light and not in the midst of medical challenges. He expressed gratitude for his recovery and acknowledged the emotional toll it had taken on him, which indicated that occasional outbursts of tears might occur but that he was ready to be seen again.
