You may know that J.K. Rowling is departing from her Harry Potter roots to write The Casual Vacancy, a novel geared toward an adult audience, slated for worldwide release on September 27, but you might not have heard that Rowling is also contributing to a new Harry Potter-inspired video game for PlayStation 3 for their new "Wonderbook" device, called "Book of Spells."

At the world's largest annual video game conference, E3, Sony revealed that it might not be releasing a new version of PlayStation for years to come, but the Japanese tech company is getting on board with a new book / video game called "Wonderbook: Book of Spells" that would be released on the Vita and turn the PlayStation's Move into a magic wand.

Sony called the device "the closest a Muggle can come to a real spell book," reports the U.K.'s Guardian, and revealed that Rowling has written original content for the new Sony device. "I've loved working with Sony's creative team to bring my spells, and some of the history behind them, to life," said Rowling. "This is an extraordinary device that offers a reading experience like no other," she said.
