The IRS, already under fire for allegedly targeting conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status, is now the subject of ridicule after a video was leaked featuring agency employees dancing to Cupid’s “Cupid Shuffle,” reported Politico. The video was released by the House Ways and Means Republicans on Friday. It had been filmed for the purposes of conference entertainment in 2010.

At the urging of one drill sergeant of a colleague, a group of agency members get in line and take on the "Cupid Shuffle" dance. “Get in line now… Chop, chop!” she yells.” The theatrical short video even has a narrator. “After countless hours of hard work and one broken leg,” he says, "The employees end up picking up on the shuffle and have fun.”

Although the video was meant to provide humor, lawmakers aren’t laughing. “Whether it is the tens of thousands of hard-earned taxpayer dollars spent to produce frivolous entertainment for agency bureaucrats, or the IRS’s own admission that it targeted the American people based on their personal beliefs, the outrage toward the IRS is only growing stronger,” Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Charles Boustany said in a statement.

In a few days, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration will release a report on the IRS. They are the same watchdog that revealed the IRS targeting of tax-exemption applications by Tea Party groups, and are likely to uncover more damning evidence pertaining to the government agency.
