Texas is facing a spate of prison escapes in the last year.
A family including a grandfather and his four grandsons were killed last year while at their ranch in Central Texas. The grandsons were ages 11 to 18.
The assailant, Gonzalo Lopez, was a convicted murderer and was in jail for two life sentences. He was able to escape while being transported to the prison on a prison transport bus.

After Lopez committed the murders he stole the family’s truck and was later killed during a shootout with the police.
