Influencer Jackie Miller James has woken up from a coma of over one month after suffering a brain aneurysm while she was pregnant with her and her husband Austin’s first child.
James’ family took to Instagram yesterday to show the joyful news.
“We are beyond thrilled to share that your loving prayers for Jackie have been working!” they wrote.
The beauty and lifestyle social media influencer was placed in a medically induced coma in May, one week before her daughter’s due date. An emergency C-section and brain surgery were performed on James shortly after she was rushed to the hospital.
According to the GoFund Me page set up by her sisters, Natalie and Nicelle, James had to undergo “five separate brain procedures” within the twelve days she was admitted into the hospital.
Since waking up, the family said the new mother was transferred to a rehabilitation facility.
“The doctors have been pleased upon her latest tests, numbers, and evaluations, noting that Jackie is performing above expectations at this stage of her recovery and is progressing more with every passing day,” they explained. “While Jackie is making wonderful strides, she has an incredibly long road to recovery ahead of her.”
As for their baby girl, she “continues to grow into a happy, healthy, and animated little angel.” The one-month-old infant has been reunited with her mother.
James’ family added they want to respect the 35-year-old’s privacy and that “going forward, Jackie will be the one to share any further updates across her platforms (in her own unique way) if and when is ready.”
In addition to James’ 80,000 followers on Instagram, she also has nearly 6,000 followers on TikTok.
