Idris Elba was the opening act for Madonna‘s Rebel Heart tour stop in Berlin, Germany on Tuesday.
Elba, who is best known for acting on acclaimed TV shows The Wire and Luther, moonlights as a DJ, rapper and producer. After honing those talents at festivals and clubs in his native England and on the popular party island of Ibiza, Elba brought to them to Madonna’s stage at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin.
On Twitter, Elba couldn’t hide his excitement at getting tapped to open for the pop star.
“Playing Berlin today for @Madonna concert!!!” he wrote. “Big gig ;).”
Madonna kicked off the European leg of her Rebel Heart tour, which will see her traveling to 11 countries, last week. After wrapping up in Europe, she will return to North America for a number of shows and then jet off to Asia, Australia and New Zealand for 2016 tour stops.
