Hugh Jackman’s Relationship With Former Broadway Costar Sutton Foster Goes Public As She Files For Divorce From Husband

Actress Sutton Foster and Hugh Jackman are rumored to be dating after Foster filed for divorce from her screenwriter husband Ted Griffin on Tuesday.

Foster and Jackman have not confirmed their relationship status, but insiders report that they are together, and prefer to keep their romance under the radar.

Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, have been separated since 2023 after being married for 27 years.

It is unclear when the two became romantically entwined, but sources claim that their relationship sparked while they starred on Broadways’s The Music Man from 2021 to 2023.

Foster and Griffin were married in October 2014. In December, Foster listed her home in Tuxedo Park, New York, on the market for $2.2 million.

Jackman had previously raved about Foster’s talent in a 2022 interview with New York Theatre Guide. 

He said, “It’s been a long time since I’ve done a book musical – actually, 18 years since The Boy From Oz…I’ve been lucky enough to do films, and I’ve done some plays, but there’s nothing like doing a musical on Broadway. And this is something that I’ve wanted to do for over 20 years, and doing it with this cast in particular – Sutton Foster is just a dream.”

Foster herself had also praised Jackman’s work as an actor. In 2022, she told Vogue, “He has an impeccable reputation of being the hardest working man, incredibly kind, and generous — and all of that is true… He disarms everyone, and he doesn’t make anything about him. And he’s now become one of my best friends, which was a surprise because you usually go into these things thinking.”

Griffin and Foster share their adopted daughter, Emily. In 2021, Foster penned an essay for People that recalled the couple’s experience trying to get pregnant. “We had all these roadblocks, but as soon as we started pursuing adoption, it was like the roadblocks were going away,” she wrote. “It was like our daughter was cannonballing towards us, and we just needed to get out of our own way.”
