Honey Boo Boo and Mama June are returning to reality television on Wednesday, in a new episode of The Doctors that has Dr. Travis Stork criticizing Mama June for her daughter’s obesity.

Honey Boo Boo Gets ‘Health Intervention’ From The Doctors

Honey Boo Boo, born Alana Thompson, and June Shannon, aka Mama June, starred in TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, where they made names for themselves as a “redneck” family that loved beauty pageants and fried foods. Now, after a scandal involving Mama June’s relationship with a convicted child molester, the family’s reality series has been canceled, the two return to television to face a “Health Intervention” courtesy of The Doctors.

Dr. Stork and his colleague Dr. Jennifer Ashton, are not shy when voicing their disapproval at the lifestyle of the reality television family. After going on a tour of Alana and Mama June’s home, including a peek into their fridge, the doctors concluded that Honey Boo Boo needed to be put on a diet. “She’s an obese nine-year-old,” said Dr. Ashton bluntly.

Dr. Stork agreed, blaming Mama June for her daughter’s unhealthy lifestyle. “It all starts with you,” he says. “That’s on you.”

Both doctors created a weight loss plan for the family, and allowed Alana and Mama June to choose the one that is right for them. The episode will air on Feb. 25.

According to an interview with Access Hollywood, Dr. Stork has put Alana on a strict diet and The Doctors even gave her a bike to work on her exercise. The show has also provided Alana and her mother with a personal chef to ensure well rounded meals in accordance with Stork’s book, The Doctor’s Diet.
