Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend Lauren Sánchez arrived at the sunny premiere event for the premiere of a huge Amazon series, The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power. As the founder of Amazon, Bezos stands to gain plenty if The Rings Of Power ends up being a huge hit, but he told Time, “I hope we do Tolkien’s work justice… It goes beyond making a commercially successful show. Everyone working on the show read these stories as kids and our hearts are in it.”

Amazon Studios has thrown down a pretty penny to bring LOTR to the silver screen. The rights to the book series alone cost $250 million, and the first series production was reportedly one of the costliest shows ever, totaling to around $468 million spent during shooting. The Rings Of Power begins with a two-episode premiere on September 2, 2022 and will air the rest of the eight-episode first season weekly.
