Heidi Montag showed up at a Santa Monica Courthouse this morning and officially filed for legal separation from husband Spencer Pratt. She lists irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation.

However, no filing for divorce was made. Legal separation only states that any earnings Heidi makes after the papers have been filed will be 100 percent her own and not Spencer’s.

Heidi’s move may have been sparked by her high hopes to make a lot of her own money with her own upcoming reality show. The star is set to appear in a new show with former Laguna Beach costar Jenn Bunney and at least one of Hugh Hefner’s playgirl twins. –ALEXA GREENBERG
