Harvey Weinstein Attempts To Retrieve Personal E-mails In Court

Harvey Weinstein asked a U.S bankruptcy judge to turn over personal emails that are relevant to investigations against him.

Weinstein has been accused of sexually assaulting numerous women but has denied every account.

In the filing Wienstein’s attorneys wrote, “[The Weinstein Company’s] continued refusal to permit Mr. Weinstein to access these emails has significantly impinged his ability to effectively defend himself from these allegations and is a continuing deprivation of his due process rights.”

According to the filing, Weinstein has investigations against him in multiple jurisdictions including New York, London and Los Angeles. The federal and state investigations have requested documents related to the cases.

Weinstein’s attorneys said by sharing the emails they are “confident that any and all investigations can and will be brought to a favorable conclusion.”

He and his brother Bob filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March. A private equity firm agreed to purchase the company out of bankruptcy for $301 million. This sets the floor for the auction that will be held on May  4.
