Harry Styles was groped by a fan at a concert on Saturday night, and the incident has motivated many fans to speak out against sexual harassment.

HARRY STYLES GROPED ON STAGE

A fan grabbed for Styles’ crotch while he was on stage performing for the We Can Survive benefit concert for breast cancer awareness. The moment was caught on camera by multiple fans. The singer appeared distraught and moved the hand away, but continued his performance. Styles has not commented on the experience.

“Near the end of performing ‘Kiwi,’ like usual, Harry went to the very front of the stage to get the crowd extra excited,” an eyewitness shared. “He got down onto his knees and was shaking his arms to the music with his eyes closed. A fan then reached out and touched his crotch. He very quickly got up and appeared to also shove their hand a little bit to remove them faster. You can tell it freaked him out a little because as he continued performing, he avoided the section that fan was standing in.”

Fans posted videos of the event to social media sites and spoken out against the fan, prompting the hashtag #RespectHarry. “I’m in tears. Harry has created such a safe space for everyone, and this is how he’s repaid? Sexual assault? I just… #RespectHarry,” wrote one Twitter user. “Public Service Announcement: Celebrities are human beings. Harry Styles is a human being. He is not a sexual object #RespectHarry,” said another.

This is yet another incident that has shined light on the ongoing issue of sexual harassment and assault. More than 50 women have come forward to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault and even rape. More and more men and women are coming forward to share their experiences and condemn sexual harassment.
