The traveling production of the award-winning musical Hamilton has announced plans to visit eight cities in their 2018 tour.

The Tony-winning musical’s 2017 tour is still occurring full steam, with its current show in San Francisco. The tour opened March 10th at San Francisco’s SHN Orpheum Theatre, where it will remain for nearly five months before traveling to Los Angeles’ Pantages Theatre on August 11th. It will then conclude with a month-long visit at San Diego’s Civic Theatre in January 2018.

‘Hamilton’s’ 2018 U.S. Tour

The second portion of the tour, announced this Monday, will kick off with a six-week stay at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre in February 2018. The tour will then make stops in eight other U.S. locations, including Portland, Salt Lake City, Costa Mesa, California, Las Vegas, Des Moines, Cleveland, and Minneapolis.

Producer Jeffrey Seller explained the extension of the tour, stating, “There has been tremendous interest in the show from markets across the country.”

“The best way to get the show in front of as many people as possible is to form a new company to crisscross the country. Beginning in 2018, more than 8,000 people a night will have the opportunity to see the show somewhere in North America. Indeed, Hamilton is for everyone,” Seller concluded.

In addition to the touring production, Hamilton has established two permanent residencies: one at Chicago’s PrivateBank Theatre, and, after this November, another at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre. These two are in addition to its Broadway location, which frequently boasts a sold-out ticket status.

The 2017 tour was the musical’s first national tour, and has been met so far with great enthusiasm. The musical is Lin-Manuel Miranda’s multiple award-winning take on Alexander Hamilton, the nation’s first U.S. treasury secretary. It has been applauded for reclaiming the nation’s founding story story with a multicultural cast.
