Blake Shelton asked Gwen Stefani to marry him after just six months of dating — but Stefani said no — according to reports on Friday.

Shelton reportedly sat Stefani down for an indoor picnic at her mansion in Los Angeles recently, and presented her with a $1.2 million Tiffany diamond ring.

Shelton allegedly hid the diamond in a box of Kentucky Fried Chicken, yet Stefani couldn’t give Shelton the answer he was hoping for.

“Gwen was very touched, but said she had to wait to make sure it was right for the kids,” an insider told Radar.

Stefani’s three sons, Kingston, 10, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 2, may have influenced her decision — but the couple’s seven-year age difference was also a factor.

“Gwen fears their age will get in the way of long-term happiness,” the insider revealed. “She’s 14 years older than Blake’s ex-wife, Miranda Lambert!”

“She [Stefani] believes the time may have passed for her to have another baby,” the source added. “She’s worried Blake won’t be happy in a marriage where he might never be a father.”

Stefani also appears to be still recovering from the betrayal of ex-husband Gavin Rossdale cheating on her, which caused the breakup of their nearly 13-year marriage.
