Grammys 2016: Youngest Grammy Nominee Joey Alexander, 12, Performs
On last night’s 58th Annual Grammys, Joey Alexander, only 12 years old, took the stage and wowed audiences with his talent on the piano.
The young artist was also nominated for Best Jazz Instrumental Album and Best Improvised Jazz Solo. Alexander is one of the youngest artists ever to be nominated for a Grammy. He is also the youngest to be nominated in the jazz category.
The pianist released his first album, My Favorite Things, in May 2015. At the time of his album release, the New York Times called Alexander “the most talked-about one that jazz has seen in a while.”
His performance also got him a standing ovation from the audience of which included Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.
