Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos revealed on the show Monday that he tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
Stephanopoulos, 59, has been caring for his wife, comedian Ali Wentworth, 55, who confirmed that she tested positive for the virus two weeks ago.
“I’m one of those cases that are basically asymptomatic,” Stephanopoulos said on the show via video chat from his home. “I’ve never had a fever, never had chills, never had a headache, never had a cough, never had shortness of breath. I’m feeling great.”
He also gave an update on Wentworth’s health: “She’s going on her fifth day now with no fever, which is really a great sign, slowly getting out of bed a little bit more each day.”
She confirmed her diagnoses on Instagram on April 1.
Stephanopoulos is part of a list of news anchors to test positive for the virus including Chris Cuomo and Brooke Baldwin from CNN, and Jedediah Bila from Fox and Friends.
New York state, at the epicenter of the pandemic, has seen more than 188,000 cases and 9,300 deaths due to coronavirus.
