Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady have finalized their divorce as of Friday morning, with Bündchen submitting divorce papers uncontested in Florida court.

The writing had been on the wall for the couple after it was revealed both parties had hired lawyers recently.

Bündchen said in a statement which partially read: “The decision to end a marriage is never easy, but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always.”

The Miami Buccanneers player Brady said in part: “We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”

The two met in 2006 and quickly hit it off, with Bündchen having previously dated Leonardo DiCaprio in 2005 and Brady was recently out of a relationship with Bridget Moynahan, who he has one kid with. Bündchen and Brady married in Santa Monica, California in 2009 and have two children together.

Their settlements were reportedly smoothed by the fact that they had a pretty strict prenup before getting married, and they also have an extensive real-estate portfolio including mansions in Miami, New York City and Montana.

Brady has had a tough season after returning to the Buccaneers and was seen in one video yelling at some offensive line players of his team.
